MIDDLESEX – Billie Ray Hardie, 65, died Tuesday. A native of Columbus Co. he was son to the late Homer L. & Carrie Ward Hardy. Mr. Hardie served in the United States Air Force honorably until his retirement as Master Sgt. He worked as a Rescue Firefighter & teacher in the Air force. After his retirement he worked in construction and as a Respiratory Tech in home health care He loved God, his country, his beloved wife & golf.
Funeral service will be 11 am, Friday, Independence Pentecostal Holiness Church, 8672 New Sandy Hill Church Rd., Bailey, NC. Entombment to follow in Hollywood Cemetery, Middlesex..
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Norma Hopkins Hardie of the home, brother, Carson (Sylvia) of Buchanan, TN, sister, Sue Boyette of Taylorsville, NC & many nieces and nephews & a special friend Alice Elvis. He was preceded by siblings, Bud, Johnny, & Sallie.
Visitation, 7- 8:30 pm, Thursday, Independence Pentecostal Holiness Church.
