December 10, 1948 – June 26, 2024

Betty Sue Corbett Wood, 75, died on Wednesday.  She was born in Wake County to the late Millard & Mary Jones Parrish.  She retired from the Wake County Public School System where she was a bus driver.  Sue was an avid pilot, had a heart of gold and was an all-around sweet person.   She was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Wood, son , David Wallace, Grandson, Derek Smith, brothers, Durwood Parrish, Billy Parrish, & Worth Parrish.

She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Ollis (Mackie), her bonus son, Steve Wood (Trina), her brother, Charles Parrish, her sweetheart, David Wheaton, grandchildren, Danniell Wallace, Christopher Smith, Johnathon Smith, Sierra Stanley, 3 great grandchildren, 4 stepdaughters, several nieces and nephews.

Visitation 2-3  pm, Saturday, Baptist Tabernacle Church in the fellowship hall.  The funeral will follow at 3 in the church sanctuary.  Burial will follow in the Zebulon Town Cemetery.
