July 16, 1919 – January 2, 2011


ZEBULON – Belma Parker Murray, 91, went home to her Lord early Sunday morning.  Mrs. Murray was a graduate of Middlesex High School.  She worked for Devil Dog and the rest of her time was devoted to her family, her love unquestioned and unending.  She had a truly inviting way about her and a sweet sincere smile.  Her presence was a wonderful thing to be around and her warmth and kindness were felt by many.  Belma lived at Robinwood and enjoyed all the time spent there and the friendships she made.  She was preceded in death by her husband Mr. Duvern A. Murray, son, Steve Murray, brother, Adrian Parker, & sister, Beulah Chamblee.


She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, sons, Bobby Ray Murray & wife Alicia of Zebulon, Michael Murray of Zebulon, David Murray of Wendell, and daughter, Michele E. Fowler, also of Wendell, brother A. G Parker & wife Frances of Advance, NC, 14 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren & great, great grandchildren.


Flowers or memorials to a charity of choice are welcomed.


Funeral service will be 3 pm, Tuesday, Strickland Funeral Home Chapel, 211 W. Third St.  Burial will follow in the Murray Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2pm – 3 pm, prior to the service and other times at the home of her son, Bobby Ray Murray.
