CLAYTON – Barbara Ann Land, 74, died Tuesday.  She was born in Vance County to the late William “Billy” Clarence & Agnes Rose Harris.  She worked at Aubreys ’s & Peedies grill for many years.  She was a big-hearted woman with a warm smile.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Early Lee Land III & grandson, Jack Hayes.

She is survived by her children, James “Shorty” White, Jr. of Wendell, Billy Joe White of Pinehurst, Robin Moore (Waynette) of Newton, Tina Ann White of Wendell, brother, Michael Harris (Crystal) grandchildren, Meagan Innes, Elena Robinson, Jessica White (Antony Wood), Tricia White (James Creech) Jason White, & 10 great grandchildren.

Flowers welcomed or memorials may be made to St. Jude’s’ Children Hospital or SECU Hospice.

Funeral Service 2 pm Friday, Strickland Funeral Home Chapel, 211 W. Third St., Wendell with visitation from 1-2 pm, prior to the service.  Burial, Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.  www.stricklandfuneral.com

    I am so saddened to hear about Barbara’s passing. I worked with her for a couple years and we had many a good conversations. She was such a sweet lady and I know she will be missed! I will be praying for your family.

    I will miss you my dear friend, I can’t question why u left because only god knows why. All the years I’ve known you and the distance between us never wavered our friendship. The laughs we shared are forever pressed in my mind . I’m so grateful to have a friend like you all the way to the end. Your memory will always bring a smile to my face..
