Ayden Garland Hopkins
August 26, 1941 – March 28, 2025
MIDDLESEX – Ayden Garland Hopkins, 83, made his heavenly ascension on Friday, March 28, 2025. He was born August 26, 1941, in Nash County, to the late Norman and Annie Lee Cone Hopkins. Ayden worked as a Carpenter, owning his own business. He carried many noble traits in his daily life, some of which include being a simple and hardworking man, tender-hearted and generous. Ayden found joy in helping others in need, freely giving his time, never wanting recognition for doing what he felt led to do. His kind nature will certainly leave a legacy of love in the cherished memories of those who loved him. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his twin brother who died at birth and his brother-in-law, Bill Hardie.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, in the Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, 211 W. Third St., Wendell, NC 27591. Interment will take place immediately following the service at Hollywood Cemetery, 10827 S Nash St, Middlesex, NC 27557.
He is survived by his children, Rodney Hopkins (Lisa) and Garlene English (Joey); grandchildren, Christopher Price (Carmen), Brandy Jenkins (Andy), Miranda Gardner (Jeremy), Danny English II, Jersey English (Amanda), Jayden English, Farrah English and Jake English; great grandchildren, Abygail Price, Dawson Jenkins, Cheyenne Vaughan, Matthew Gardner and Dalton English; sisters, Norma Jean Hardie and Nell Narron (Mike); nephew, Michael Shane White (Jennifer)..
The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00pm – 7:30pm on Monday, March 31, 2025, at Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory.
