August 14, 1935 – July 25, 2023

WENDELL – Addie Lee Turner Batten, 87 was daughter to the late Walter L. and Sally Matthews Turner. Ms. Addie dedicated her love and time into being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and homemaker. Much like the love she had for her family she had a strong love for everyone that knew her, especially for her church family at Baptist Tabernacle Church, or as she called it, “ The Tab”, where she faithfully attended as long as her health allowed. She was preceded in death by her husband Chip Batten, her sisters, Peggy Turner Chase, Gladys Faulkner, and her brothers, Jack, Roy, Frank and Coy.

Addie is survived by her son Greg Batten (Tammy Lynn), sisters, Sally Posch, Brenda Narron (Jerry), Elaine Barham (Julian), Linda Johnson, grandson, Jonathan Turner Batten (Cayce), granddaughter Taylor Danielle Wilson (Carson), and great grandchildren Emma Gray and Wesley Graham Wilson.

Flowers welcomed but memorials are encouraged to be made to Baptist Tabernacle Church.

Funeral service 11 AM, Friday July 28, 2023 at Baptist Tabernacle Church 1599 NC – 231 Wendell, with visitation from 10 – 11 AM prior to the service in the Family Ministry Center. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

    Such a sweet lady every time we visited at her church. She was so proud to be a member and loved Pastor Glen with her whole heart. RIP and memories are with us always
