Susie Carter Wade
September 7, 1943 – July 10, 2026

Susie Carter Wade, of Bunn, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026, at the age of 82.

Susie was the youngest daughter of the late John Melvin Carter and Hazel Gilbert Carter. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jimmy Wade, seven brothers, and two sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Ricky Wade (Donna) and Billy Wade; her daughter, Somer Wade Watson (Justin); her sister, Robin Parrish (Dale); her grandchildren, Dylan Wade (Jaky), Jordan Wade (Sam), Derrick Wade, Jami Wade, and Laci Wade; her great-grandchildren, Lluvia, Alex, Grayson, and Ivy; her beloved niece, Gena; her cherished fur babies, Zoey and Minnie Pearl; along with many extended family members and dear friends.

Susie was a devoted woman who found her greatest joy in her family. She treasured every moment spent with those she loved and created a home filled with warmth, kindness, and lasting memories.

A faithful member of Rocky Cross Holiness Church, Susie served joyfully as the church greeter and faithfully coordinated the Christmas Card Ministry. The children of the church lovingly knew her as “Miss Susie” because she always greeted them with a smile and a little bag of candy each Sunday. She especially enjoyed the fellowship of the Christians in Action Group and cherished the friendships she made there.

Susie also had a deep love for God’s creation. Her beautiful yard and colorful flower gardens reflected the care, patience, and joy she poured into everything she did. She found peace in tending her flowers and delight in the beauty that surrounded her.

She will be remembered for her caring heart, gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and the smiles and laughter she shared with everyone she met.
In her own words:

“Remember me with smiles and laughter, because that’s how I will remember you.”

Her memory will forever bloom in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with the funeral service immediately following at 11:00 a.m., at Strickland Funeral Home Chapel in Wendell.

Sis. Susie Wade was a blessing and a joy to know and fellowship with. Her smile is contagious. She was a faithful member and supporter of our Women’s Sunday School Class. She attended as much as possible when she was able to get there. As a Christian woman, she was a living testimony of what it took to persevere and overcome the physical demands and struggles she faced later in her life. She will be greatly missed and remembered. May God bless and comfort the hearts of her family who will feel her absence more than anyone. With Love and Prayers…

I met Susie when Somer and my boys were in elementary school. We took turns picking up the kids from school for a while . She was gracious enough to help me coach the Mighty Mite Pee Wee cheerleaders . My family took several trips to her place at White Lake . She was the most amazing woman . Her heart was filled with so much love and kindness for everyone she knew and met . She will surely be missed but God has gained a beautiful angel in heaven . May God bless your family and know that Susie is in the hearts of all who loved her .
