Chiquita Laday Wilkins, 46, transitioned from this life on July 28, 2023. She was born in Washington Co. to Sadie Hill and the late Lemul Ashe Jr. She worked as an administrator for the State of NC. She loved cooking and had a passion for spending time with family. No matter the occasion, you could always put a smile on her face with flowers. Her memory will forever live on through all who knew her.

Chiquita is survived by her devoted husband of 25 years, Thomas Maurice Wilkins (Reecie), two sons, Daeshawn M. Wilkins and Adrian “Keyshon” Wilkins of the home in Wendell, NC. She also leaves to cherish memories her loving mother, Sadie Hill-Lancaster (Otha) and brother, Billy Hill, both of Raleigh, NC, and father-in-law, Thomas Wilkins of Roper, NC. She also leaves her grandmother, Julia Ashe of Plymouth NC; aunts, Cheryl Young (Ricky), Pamela Hill, Patricia Bowers, Thalleta Hill, Katherine Rhines (James), and Joyce Ashe; uncles, Hal Hill, William Hill (Lois), Russell Hill (Gloria), Larry Jordan, Thomas Ashe and James Ashe, brothers-in-law, Anthony McCray (Cassandra) and Timothy McCray (Bonnie), sister-in-law, Shawanna Norman (James), nieces and nephews, Jamal, Anthony Jr. “TJ”, Joshua, James IV, Atreyu, Janel and Journee and a host of relatives and friends.

Chiquita was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Juliet McCray Wilkins, grandparents, Sadie Lee Spruill Hill and Emmitt Welton Hill, Jr., aunts, Deborah Kay Hill Wallace, Sadie Priscilla Hill, Delores Jean Jordan, Sarah Ella Ashe, uncles, Edward Earl Ashe, and nephew, Marquel Walker.

Burial to follow service at Greenmount Cemetery, Wendell NC

    Chiquita was a real good friend of mine, We went shopping together even though she wasnt feeling well, Chiquita wii surely be missed, and i miss her
